Job description Materials Handler/Forklift Operator (Full Time) Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug test Must be at least 18 years old to operator forklift Opportunity to drive our F550 truck for deliveries Current driver’s license Clean MVR for past 3 years DOT Medical Card required to drive F550 Available to work Monday-Friday, any shift from 7:00 am-6:00 pm, with a rotating Saturday schedule (8 am-4 pm) Location: Jesup, Georgia Report to: Yard Foreman and Store Manager Role Description Complete forklift, driving and safety training to become forklift certified Pull and stage materials for pick up or delivery, checking and double-checking order ticket for accuracy Build loads and load both company trucks and customer vehicles Help unload incoming delivery trucks Professional and courtesy customer service, whether helping customers at the store or meeting with them at a job site Daily inspection of truck before leaving for deliveries Assist with maintaining an efficient, clean, safe and well-operated lumberyard Clean up and properly dispose of all debris Conduct cycle counts for inventory Properly operate and maintain all equipment Abide by all rules, policies and procedures for the lumber yard and the company Take initiative to ensure things are getting done without constantly being reminded Other tasks as directed by the Yard Foreman, Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager Physical Demands and Work Environment Must be able to lift minimum 80 lbs Must be able to perform demanding, physical labor working with and lifting different types of building materials, including sheetrock Outdoors; uneven surfaces; noisy; dusty, when it’s hot, it’s hot; when it’s cold, it’s cold and when it rains, you will get wet Important Characteristics and Other Skills Dependable, reliable Problem solver, can-do attitude, go above and beyond Take pride in work; don’t stand around on cell phone, contribute to the success and growth of the company Respects co-workers Ability to operate in a team environment and successfully work on own Strong communication skills Commit to increasing knowledge of all product Benefits Employee discount Medical, dental and vision Paid time off Pay: From $15.00 per hour Benefits: Dental insurance Employee discount Health insurance Life insurance Paid time off Vision insurance Work Location: In person
