Materials & Equipment Dispatcher

Job Summary We are seeking a highly organized Materials & Equipment Dispatcher to help coordinate the daily movement of materials, equipment, and drivers supporting our construction operations. This position will work closely with the Logistics Manager each day to coordinate deliveries, equipment moves, pickups, and driver assignments. A major responsibility of this position will also be helping develop and maintain an effective tracking system for company drivers and equipment. This is primarily an office-based position, approximately 70% desk/dispatch work and 30% hands-on work in the yard , including checking loads, verifying equipment, and performing equipment audits. Duties Work directly with the Logistics Manager to coordinate the daily logistics plan. Coordinate and communicate daily assignments to company drivers. Track driver assignments, deliveries, pickups, and equipment movements. Maintain visibility of where company equipment is located and which job it is assigned to. Help develop and maintain a practical tracking system for drivers and equipment. Verify material and equipment loads prior to delivery when necessary. Perform physical equipment audits and reconcile actual equipment locations with tracking records. Confirm deliveries, pickups, and equipment moves have been completed. Maintain accurate records of equipment moving between the yard and jobsites. Identify missing equipment, incomplete loads, scheduling conflicts, or other issues before they impact field operations. Communicate changes, delays, and problems to the Logistics Manager and appropriate team members. Assist with improving dispatch and logistics procedures as the operation grows. Perform other logistics-related duties as needed. Qualifications Strong organizational and time-management skills. Good verbal and written communication skills. Basic to intermediate computer skills. Comfort working with Excel or similar tracking systems. Ability to manage multiple assignments and changing priorities. Attention to detail and accurate recordkeeping. Ability to communicate effectively with drivers, field personnel, and management. Willingness to work both in an office and outdoors in a construction/yard environment. Ability to identify problems and communicate them before they affect operations.
