Materials Control Shipping/Receiving

Summary: The Materials Control Shipper/Receiver will perform a variety of receiving, shipping, production, housekeeping and data entry tasks. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Shipping: Prepare orders for shipment in accordance with the pick ticket and customer requirements Pick LTL loads, call in LTL loads Pick trailer shipments based on load sheets Check inventory to verify availability of needed stock Notify the Manager of any shortages Prepare shipping documents Stage shipment, including printing shipping labels, add shipping labels to crates, and then scanning the item and serial numbers into TCM, the production software Print Bills of Lading and Packing Slips Ensure packing list/ shipping documents match product loaded Load product onto truck via forklift Receiving: Receive and unload incoming material and compare information on packing slips with purchase orders to verify accuracy of shipment Remove packing slips and compare them to actual merchandise Sort, count, package, label, and unpack inventory that is received Inspect shipments for damages, loss, or defects, and notify the Supervisor of findings Enter received inventory into TCM, the warehouse software Check for TCM data entry accuracy by running a TCM receipts report at end of day and comparing the report to packing slips Stock shelves in the warehouse Material Control and Housekeeping: · Consistent 5S responsibility · Ongoing space control, and maximizing the spaces usefulness · Provide / Supply end of assembly lines; move finished goods to finished goods warehouse · Use company yard semi to move 53 ft trailers in / out of loading docks (CDL required) o 2 – 3 times per week move trailer from rear yard to loading dock and back when loaded (10%) · Provide materials to shop floor for daily production Education and / or Experience: High School Diploma or GED Minimum of 2 years warehouse experience in receiving, production or shipping Skills and Abilities: Effective communication/comprehension skills - verbal and written Professional communications with co-workers and external customers (truck drivers) Ability to read, comprehend and follow standard operating procedures Math Skills - Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure Ability to organize work, set priorities and practice great time management Basic computer skills REQUIRED - Fork Lift certification (done onsite and requires a valid drivers license) Ability to operate a semi-truck/trailer; Valid Commercial Driver’s License preferred. Ability to obtain a CDL Class A and Federal DOT Medical Card after employment required. Operate dolly, pallet jack, and/or forklift in loading and unloading material and equipment Supervisory: None · Work Environment: · Manual dexterity required for operating machines and equipment. · Frequent walking, standing, crouching, kneeling Ability to lift and or carry 50 lbs. or more of materials and product. · Machinery operation requires the use of safety equipment and personal protective equipment to include, but not limited to: eye safety glasses, hearing protection, work boots.
