Material Program Manager
American Flowform & MachiningMaterial Program Manager Location: Billerica, MA, 01821 Position Overview The primary purpose of the Material Program Manager role is to coordinate and monitor the flow of materials, purchase orders, and internal production orders to ensure manufacturing and program schedules are met. This individual will work closely with purchasing, production, supply chain, quality, and outside service providers (OSP’s) to identify and resolve delays that impact the program schedule. This role is dedicated to a specific Program and/or related Program family. Key Responsibilities Monitor production schedules and internal work order status. Track materials and parts needed for production. Follow up with suppliers and outside service providers on late or incomplete deliveries. Identify potential shortages or production delays before they impact program schedule. Maintain an active line of balance outlining WIP (work in process) across critical steps of the program workflow. Expedite critical materials and purchase orders. Communicate changes in priorities and delivery dates to program management and appropriate teams. Maintain accurate records of work order status, inventory, and expected deliveries. Ensure materials are available when required. Investigate discrepancies, shortages, and delayed shipments. Report status to operations, leadership, and program management. Help prioritize work orders based on production requirements. Use ERP/MRP systems (JobBoss preferred) to track orders and inventory. Basic Qualifications 2–5 years of experience in manufacturing, production, purchasing, inventory, logistics, or a related field Basic understanding of manufacturing and production processes Basic computer skills and the ability to learn and use an ERP/MRP system Must be a U.S. Citizen due to the nature of the work, compliance with federal contracts, and exposure to ITAR/EAR-regulated technical data.
