Driver Industrial SafetyMaterial Planner/Scheduler JOB SUMMARY: The Material Planner/Scheduler is responsible for reviewing and prioritizing order requirements, determining manufacturing capacities, scheduling work center product and labor flow. The Production/Inventory Planner is also responsible for generating production schedules to meet customer and manufacturing requirements for designated commodities and establishing and maintaining inventory levels at multiple manufacturing facilities. This position reports to the Director of Operations. AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY: Review inventory levels and safety stock at each facility and schedule the manufacture of product to meet specified ship dates. Reviews various reports to facilitate the transfer of products from one facility to another based on customer demand and order shipments. Reviews large customer orders for inventory availability and possible production schedule changes. Advises appropriate individuals when component availability or production capacity problems place inventory levels at risk. Creates the Daily OOR (Open Order Report) report and saves to the Teams folder Runs and directs the Daily OOR report. Creates and manages Work orders for Daily production. Reviews component inventories and verifies availability prior to releasing work orders. Promptly informs the relevant departments of changes to current production schedules. Coordinates the production capacity of individual work centers with the Manufacturing staff and adjusts planned quantities and priorities accordingly. Publishes prioritized daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules by work center. Works with buyers to expedite or reschedule raw material due dates and quantities. Works with the buyer to set inventory levels (min and max) on all inventory parts adjusting as lead times change. Work with Production Manager to provide production capacity plans for the manufacturing areas to determine labor requirements and to effectively level load the manufacturing areas. Generates broad view planning schedule to facilitate machine maintenance. Gives lead times for quotes and new orders. Assist with the RFSMART system. Full inventory accountability for accuracy and transactional recording in all global subsidiaries including BoM kitting, TO & WO. Update and maintain critical data fields in NetSuite (ERP); as required for specific processes. Other duties as assigned. KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, AND ABILITY: · Excel, Word, and Power Point skills · Good communication skills · Good writing skills · Basic knowledge of manufacturing and assembly processes · Able to work under pressure · NetSuite experience is a plus · RFSMART experience is a plus · Lean Manufacturing experience MATERIAL PLANNER REQUIREMENTS: Strong organizational and time management skills Excellent leadership and decision-making skills Excellent documentation and communication skills are required – you must be able to gracefully articulate the data to others who are not data savvy. · Ability to balance multiple tasks and establishing processes – blazing the trail. · Familiarity with various inventory management best practices in an environment with large amounts of SKU’s and multiple product lines. · At least 5 years of Planning experience · Bilingual a plus PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The physical demands described here are representative of those an employee must meet to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
