Title: Material Planner

Reports to: Material Planning Manager 

Job Purpose: Manage, plan and release orders for a portfolio of purchased components, raw materials, and outside services for production and sales requirements for a specific division, ensuring optimized service and inventory levels within corporate guidelines.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
• As part of a team supporting a specific division, take ownership and management of a portfolio of materials with on-going analysis and maintenance of MRP parameters to meet demand, while maintaining service levels and inventory control.
• Issue periodic forecasts to vendors. Issue Purchase Orders (PO) daily based on MRP &/or sales requirements.
• Purchase order processing, including vendor confirmations, ensuring on-time delivery, accurate receipts to PO completion, resolving any subsequent invoice issues.
• Ensure appropriate maintenance of open PO's through potential changes of MRP requirements, communicating and managing changes with vendors as necessary.
• Immediate reaction to urgent production &/or sales requirements, taking ownership internally and externally to resolution stage.
• Ensure effective management & communication of vendor reject material to resolution, liaising closely with other internal departments as required, along with vendors.
• Analysis of material discrepancies to MRP (ERP) system resolution, with root cause fixes, liaising closely with other internal departments as required.
• Processing part level Change Notice (CN) requirements
• Communicate daily with team, department associates, planners and supervisors on material availability, and any potential issues.

Education and Experience:
• High School Diploma, or GED
• 1 - 2 years material control / supply chain experience in a volume manufacturing environment preferred. Assembly production experience is a definite asset. 
• Supply Chain Management / Logistics certifications are considered an asset
• Experienced with ERP or MRP software, Dynamics 365 an asset. Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, & Outlook
