Gemini is looking for a dependable, hands-on individual to support our Material Handling & Extrusion operations team in Cannon Falls, MN! This role focuses on keeping production running smoothly by assisting with material handling, grinding materials, distributing materials to support both shipping and receiving operations.. Wage: $19.40 / hr. -1st shift and $21.34/hr. -2nd shift Location: Cannon Falls, MN Type: Seasonal Hours: Flexibility for 4 day/10 hr day work week or 5 day/8 hr day work week A day in the life of an Extrusion Team Member at Gemini includes: Move materials to designated areas and transport raw materials, work-in-process, and supplies as needed. Ensuring raw materials are ground and ready for the Extrusion operators. Anticipate upcoming production needs and prepare the next job while the current job is running or finishing, helping minimize downtime between jobs. Assist with routine preventative maintenance, cleaning, and general upkeep of machinery and surrounding work areas. Maintains an awareness of how process improvements can be achieved and makes related recommendations. Follows all safe work practices as outlined in Employee Manual and Safety Orientation. Completes all required safety training and participates in monthly connection meetings. Drive forklift and other material handling equipment as required. Will participate in Lean/Continuous Improvement efforts in the plant. Maintain effective working relationships with fellow employees. Maintains responsibility for the safety of oneself and other employees in the work area. Maintains a neat working environment. Perform similar or related various duties as required. Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Experience operating material handling equipment such as pallet jacks and hand trucks. Basic knowledge of shipping and receiving processes. Physical ability to lift and move heavy materials safely. Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment. Familiarity with assembly line operations. Certification in forklift operation or other material handling equipment. Experience working with computerized inventory systems. Demonstrated ability to work flexible hours including overtime. Skills: The required skills such as operating material handling equipment and using pallet jacks and hand trucks are essential for moving materials efficiently and safely throughout the warehouse. Proficiency in order picking and shipping/receiving ensures accurate fulfillment and timely dispatch of customer orders. Familiarity with bar code scanning and warehouse management systems allows for precise inventory tracking and reduces errors in stock management. The ability to work overtime demonstrates flexibility and commitment to meeting production and shipping deadlines. Preferred skills like assembly line support and forklift certification enhance the candidate's capability to contribute to various operational areas, improving overall workflow and productivity.
