Material Handling Manager
CBREAbout the Role: As a CBRE Material Handling Maintenance Manager, you will manage a team responsible for the maintenance and repair of material handling equipment. You will ensure the efficient and effective operation of all material handling systems to support the overall productivity and safety of the facility. What You’ll Do: Apply knowledge of material handling maintenance and how it integrates with other disciplines to achieve team and departmental objectives. Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve day-to-day and moderately complex issues in material handling systems and processes. Coordinate and supervise the team's daily activities, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and effectively. Lead the team to impact the quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of the job discipline and department. Exchange and explain difficult information, convey performance expectations, and handle sensitive issues with team members and stakeholders. Influence parties of shared interests to reach agreements and ensure smooth operations. Develop and implement maintenance schedules and procedures to ensure optimal performance of material handling equipment. Monitor and evaluate the performance of material handling systems, making recommendations for improvements as needed. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies in all maintenance activities. Manage the procurement and inventory of spare parts and maintenance supplies. Provide training and development opportunities for team members to enhance their skills and knowledge. What You’ll Need: Bachelor's Degree preferred with 3-5 years of relevant experience in material handling maintenance or a related field. In lieu of a degree, a combination of experience and education will be considered. Proven experience in coordinating and supervising maintenance teams, with a focus on material handling systems. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve moderately complex issues. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to exchange and explain difficult information and handle sensitive issues. Leadership skills to motivate the team and achieve broad operational targets with impacts on quality, efficiency, and effectiveness. In-depth knowledge of material handling equipment and maintenance best practices. Strong organizational skills and an advanced inquisitive mindset. Ability to influence and negotiate with parties of shared interests to reach agreements. Commitment to safety and compliance with regulations and company policies. Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
