The ideal candidate will have warehouse or distribution experience and be comfortable operating material-handling equipment. Wire-cutting experience is preferred, but candidates with strong warehouse experience who are willing to learn may also be considered.
Responsibilities
• Pull and retrieve wire and cable according to customer orders
• Operate wire-reeling, coiling, and cutting equipment
• Place wire reels onto machine payout spindles and thread wire through feed rolls
• Adjust machine settings for cutting length, wire thickness, pressure, heat, and stripping length
• Measure and cut wire accurately according to specifications
• Inspect wire for quality and remove defective material
• Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, and other material-handling equipment
• Move, stack, store, and stage inventory throughout the warehouse
• Prepare completed wire cuts for shipment
• Verify outbound orders for accuracy and damage
• Perform daily equipment and machine safety checks
• Follow OSHA, safety, and company procedures
• Use RF scanning equipment as needed
• Maintain productivity and accuracy standards
• Report damaged equipment, machinery, or materials to a supervisor
• Assist with other warehouse duties as assigned
Qualifications
• High school diploma or GED preferred
• 1+ year of wire-cutting experience preferred
• Previous warehouse, material handling, or distribution center experience preferred
• Forklift experience preferred
• Experience using RF scanners preferred
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations accurately
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to safely handle warehouse equipment and materials
• Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers and customers
• Willingness to complete required OSHA and equipment training
• Reliable attendance and ability to work a full-time schedule
