ConfidentialThe Material Handler will be responsible for the efficient and accurate handling, storage, and movement of materials within our facility. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring the smooth operation of our production process and the timely delivery of products to customers. ***Duties and Responsibilities: Receive and Inspect Materials: Receive incoming materials, verify quantities, and inspect for damage or defects. Ensure that all materials received match accompanying documentation and purchase orders. Verify material certifications (mill and test reports) and heat or lot numbers, and label materials so traceability is maintained from receipt through production. Report any discrepancies or quality issues to the appropriate personnel for resolution. Store and Organize Materials: Properly store materials in designated locations, ensuring they are organized and easily accessible. Follow proper storage and handling procedures to prevent damage or deterioration of materials. Record receipts, moves, and issues in the company ERP system (Fulcrum) so inventory quantities and locations stay accurate in real time. Prepare and Stage Materials: Prepare materials for production or shipment by pulling items from inventory according to work orders or shipping schedules. Stage materials in designated areas for pick-up or delivery, ensuring they are properly labeled and ready for use. Load and Unload Materials: Assist with loading and unloading materials from trucks, trailers, or other vehicles. Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, and overhead lifting equipment safely and efficiently, including completing pre-shift equipment inspections. Ensure that materials are secured properly during transportation to prevent damage or accidents. Assist with Production Operations: Provide support to production teams by delivering materials to workstations or production lines as needed. Load and unload raw materials onto laser automation and unload finished parts from the laser. Follow machine guarding, light curtain, and lockout/tagout procedures when working around automated laser and production equipment. Retrieve finished products from production areas and transfer them to storage or shipping areas. Assist with cycle counts, physical inventory, and reconciliation to maintain accurate inventory levels. Maintain Cleanliness and Safety: Keep work areas clean and organized, removing debris and obstructions to maintain a safe working environment. Adhere to safety protocols and procedures when handling materials and operating equipment. Wear required PPE on the shop floor, including safety glasses, steel-toe boots, cut-resistant gloves, and hearing protection. Report any safety hazards or concerns to supervisors immediately. Collaborate with Team Members: Communicate effectively with supervisors, coworkers, and other departments to coordinate material handling activities. Work collaboratively with team members to achieve production goals and meet customer requirements. ***Additional Responsibilities: Ensure proper and professional etiquette is demonstrated as a company representative interfacing directly with customers and suppliers.
