Job Title: Production Operator - Memphis Plant Location: Memphis, TN Job Description : The Hershey Company Memphis plant is a Non-Union plant producing products such as Ice Breakers, Breath Savers, and Good & Plenty, in a high-speed complex environment. Production is fast-paced and operators are expected to work in a variety of roles in processing and packaging within the plant. Once your training period begins, you will be assigned to a shift and/or schedule based on current plant need. You will be eligible to bid on other jobs, schedules and shifts after being in your assigned position for one year. Mandatory overtime could be daily or weekly (additional 4 hours on your 8-hour shift) and weekends (8 to 12-hour shifts). Operate electric pallet jack. Must be licensed to operate the electric pallet jack, and must meet the minimum requirements as required by the plant and industry safety regulations. Position requires operator to be able to work flexible hours and may require overtime, which includes weekends and possibly holidays. Ability to perform proper lockout/tagout procedures in compliance with plant and OSHA guidelines. Operate all equipment, monitor quality, speed, waste, rework and weight. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. (25 lbs repetitively) Must be able to multitask and learn several different types of machinery. Must be flexible to do any job that is assigned. Other Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Minimum Requirements: Education or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Computer skills helpful. Certificate: Electric Pallet Jack license. Requires ability to operate a drying tunnel. Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to speak effectively to other employees or customers. Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide. Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with situations involving several variables. Ability to understand and carry out oral instructions. Ability to observe and read instruments, gauges, dials, etc. to determine operating conditions.
