ConfidentialPriefert is seeking experienced Forklift Operators and Machine Operators for our DFW Steel Manufacturing Plant. RESPONSIBILITIES: Machine Operator Operate various production machines within the facility in accordance with prints and specifications. Assigned machines may include lathes, grinders, mills, brake presses, punch presses, band saws, banders, slitters, lasers, and similar equipment. Produce the required quantity of parts within established specifications and tolerances. Measure finished parts with precision tools, ensuring compliance with function, quality, and cosmetic specifications. Maintains logs and records of units produced including a record of errors resulting in rejected or discarded pieces. Inspect equipment prior to use to ensure proper setup and alignment; performs basic and routine adjustments and troubleshooting. Calibrate, adjust and correct machine set-ups to ensure products are produced to the correct specifications, thicknesses, and size. Control and adjust machine settings, and feed raw materials or parts to semi-automated and automated machines. Monitor machine cycles to detect jamming and to ensure that products conform to specifications. Examine, inspect, and measure raw materials and finished products to verify conformance to specifications. Measure finished parts with precision tools, ensuring compliance with function, quality, and cosmetic specifications. Material Handler Attach identifying tags to containers or mark them with identifying information. Read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments or material or equipment needs. Record numbers of units handled or moved, using daily production sheets or work tickets. Move freight, stock, or other materials to and from storage or production areas, loading docks, delivery vehicles, ships, or containers, by hand or using trucks, tractors, or other equipment. Sort cargo before loading and unloading. Assemble product containers or crates. Other duties as assigned.
