Overview Summary: Summit Staffing is seeking dependable, physically strong, and hardworking Material Handlers to support warehouse and distribution operations in Wilmer, TX. This is a hands-on, physically demanding position focused on moving, lifting, loading, unloading, and positioning furniture and other large merchandise. This opportunity is a great fit for candidates with experience in furniture moving, home delivery, loading and unloading trucks, freight handling, or other physically demanding warehouse work. Candidates must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds independently and remain active throughout the shift. Job Details: Location: Wilmer, TX Position: Material Handler – Freight Mover Employment Type: Temp-to-Hire Pay: $17.50hr Shift: Monday - Friday, 3:30 PM–12:00 AM For immediate consideration, call Monica at 817-213-6386! Key Responsibilities Lift, carry, move, and position furniture and other bulky merchandise throughout the distribution center. Load and unload furniture, freight, and merchandise from trailers and designated staging areas. Work as part of a team to move large or awkward items safely and efficiently. Handle heavy merchandise while following proper lifting techniques and safety procedures. Stage, organize, and position products for storage, shipment, and distribution. Move merchandise between warehouse areas while maintaining accurate product flow. Inspect items for visible damage and report damaged or improperly handled merchandise. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Meet daily productivity expectations while handling merchandise carefully. Follow all warehouse safety procedures and required PPE guidelines. Skills & Experience: Must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds independently . Comfortable performing continuous physical labor throughout an eight-hour shift. Able to stand, walk, bend, reach, push, pull, and move bulky merchandise throughout the workday. Dependable, punctual, and able to maintain a consistent work schedule. Able to work safely in a fast-paced distribution environment. Able to follow instructions and work effectively with a team. Preferred Experience: Experience in any of the following is a plus: Furniture moving or residential home delivery. Loading and unloading furniture or large merchandise. Moving companies, freight handling, or delivery services. Warehouse material handling or distribution. Truck loading, unloading, and shipment staging. Retail furniture, appliance, or other bulky-product distribution. Previous furniture or delivery experience is helpful, but candidates with a strong work ethic and the ability to perform the required physical duties are encouraged to apply. Work Environment: Fast-paced furniture and merchandise distribution center. Physically demanding work involving frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling.
