Material Handler Lead

This position is located in Jacksonville, FL. Job Overview We are seeking an experienced and dependable Material Handler Lead to support our warehouse and distribution operations. In this role, you will perform material handling duties while providing day-to-day direction and support to Material Handlers to ensure materials are moved, stored, received, and shipped safely and efficiently. The Material Handler Lead will help coordinate workflow, monitor inventory and order accuracy, promote safe work practices, and communicate operational issues to the appropriate Supervisor. Duties Operate forklift to load and unload inventory from loading docks, delivery trucks, and storage areas. Move materials from receiving or storage areas to shipping orders or to other designated areas using forklift. Coordinate and prioritize daily material-handling activities to support shipping, receiving, production, and customer orders. Provide day-to-day direction, guidance, and support to Material Handlers to ensure work is completed safely, accurately, and efficiently. Work directly with the Customer Support Specialist to coordinate customer orders, material availability, order status, and customer-specific requirements. Sort and place materials or items on racks/shelves according to procedures Receive and inspect incoming materials and products for quality, quantity, and accuracy of shipment. Marking containers or pallets with tags that identify the parts with the Customer’s P.O. Perform quality inspections and inventory of finished Customer order prior to packaging and report any discrepancies, defective materials, or conditions found to immediate Supervisor Communicate staffing, equipment, inventory, safety, or operational concerns to the appropriate Supervisor or Manager. Maintaining general cleanliness and organization of dock and work areas Willingness to perform any other related duties assigned by immediate Supervisor Qualifications Minimum 3 years of forklift and experience in a warehouse environment Previous experience as a Lead in a warehouse environment Strong knowledge of warehouse, shipping, receiving, and material-handling procedures Strong communication and teamwork skills Strong attention to detail Ability to lift up to 50 pounds Must be punctual and reliable Shift: Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm Compensation: Starting at $18.00/hour Why Join S+S Industries?
