Material Handler/Heavy Equipment Operator

Canadian Phoenix manufactures welded Steel Pipes. Position Overview The employee is responsible for loading, unloading, preparing, inspecting, and safely moving coils and pipes within the facility and for shipment. The role involves using equipment such as overhead cranes and other material-handling equipment, as well as securing loads and ensuring they comply with Ontario transportation requirements. Job Functions - Loading and unloading coil - Prepare and inspect pipes prior to shipment - Load and move pipe using material handling equipment where applicable - Communicate with the shipping department and plant manager to meet deadlines - Adhere to health and safety requirements - Maintain upkeep of work area by performing regular housekeeping - Work in all weather conditions - Prepare custom crossers for specific pipe diameter - Secure load prior to moving - Ensure load meets HTA requirements (Highway Traffic Act - Ht, Wid, Wt & - Ln) including permitted loads - Sling and move material with overhead crane Requirements - 2 years experience in a material handling/shipping role - Experience driving 65k lift truck - Valid FL license - Class 5 lift truck license preferred Pay: $26.52 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week Work Location: In person
