Overview Join our dynamic logistics team as a Material Handler/Forklift Operator, where you will be the backbone of our warehouse operations! This role offers an exciting opportunity to work across first, second, or third shifts, ensuring the smooth flow of materials and products through efficient handling and transportation. You'll play a vital part in maintaining safety standards, managing inventory, and supporting our distribution processes with energy and precision. Responsibilities Execution of standardized work for each process. This includes thorough understanding and capability to execute all key and knack points. Maintain 5S in assigned work area and follow scrap process. Participates and provides constructive input for all problem-solving activities undertaken by their team and/or supports other Gestamp personnel who have been assigned to resolve particular problems. Suggests continuous improvement ideas to the Team Leader and participates in related improvement projects to put those ideas into practice. Accountable for daily and other required checks on powered fork trucks, etc., document results and follows through reporting to Operations Team Leader and notifying Materials Leader. Accountable for safe operations of the powered industrial truck. Shared responsibility with Receiving and Shipping areas for managing the FIFO system (WIP, FG, partial hold area, and coils). Assists in scanning and labeling when directed. Accountable for maintaining material containers in the assigned locations. Accountable for maintaining the overflow management system in floor areas. Inputs information into computer when required. Supplies parts and other material proactively to the production line and storage areas as needed in a safe manner; supports de-stacker operations if required. Responsible for labeling verification of material being handled. Responsible for maintaining Quality/Integrity of the parts and materials they handle, notifies the Team Leader of any abnormality. Accountable for securing racks or containers as required. Teamwork – assist production as required. Assure all safety devices are properly in place and utilized, Lockout/Tagout procedures are adhered to, PPE is worn correctly at all times, and reporting of any near-misses, injuries, or accidents occurs immediately. Keep work area clean and orderly to prevent safety hazards. Assure adherence to quality policies and procedures including acceptable work standards, customer specifications and IPI requirements, to also include participation in the creation and support of systems, documentation and actions to ensure continued conformance to Quality (IATF) and Environmental (ISO) management systems. Observe and follow company policies and maintain proper standards of conduct at all times. All other duties needed to help drive to our Vision, fulfill our Mission, and abide by our Organization’s Values. At least 6 months experience driving a forklift or powered industrial truck preferred. Physical And Mental Requirements Of The Position Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Must be able to remain in sitting position 80% of the time. Occasionally use hands to handle, manipulate or feel objects, tools or controls. Occasionally reaches with hands and arms. Occasionally lifts and/or moves propane tanks up to 50 pounds. Exposed to temperature and humidity variations through the seasons of the year. Work performed in an environment where noise levels exceed 85 decibels and hearing protection is required. Able to listen to and communicate information clearly and concisely.
