About the Role As a Material Handler, you will support warehouse operations by performing manual and clerical duties such as receiving and processing incoming stock and materials, picking and filling orders from stock, packing and shipping orders, or managing, organizing, and retrieving stock in the warehouse. You may also deliver materials, equipment and supplies as needed. Your logistical expertise will help add value to our efficiency and productivity. Primary responsibilities will include: Working independently to load, unload, and move materials within or near work site Utilizing RF devices to fill orders and issue materials and supplies per requests Operating material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks or dollies Packing and shipping customer orders accurately and efficiently Championing effective inventory management practices Adhering to and promoting safety and security policies and procedures Demonstrating exceptional reliability while maintaining a safe and clean work environment Minimum Qualifications: Knowledge of safety practices Willingness to work nights and weekends to assist with storm response efforts as required Customer focused and team oriented Attention to detail and good time management skills Effective communication skills Ability to read, write, and communicate proficiently in English to perform the essential functions of the position, follow safety procedures, understand work-related instructions, and complete required documentation Physical Demands: Ability to stand frequently and occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds Ability to meet the position’s vision requirements, including close, distance, and peripheral vision; depth perception; and focus adjustment Ability to perform duties in a variety of environments and conditions, both indoor and outdoor Preferred Qualifications PIT/Forklift operation, understanding of OSHA and SDS. High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED), one – two years desired from a two-year college; and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. This role is eligible for an annual bonus based on the Branch's annual financial performance.
