Material Handler
HOEHN PLASTICSMaterial Handler Hoehn Plastics, Inc. is seeking dependable, safety-minded Material Handlers to join our operational team within Inventory Resources. Material Handlers play an important role in keeping production supplied and materials moving safely and efficiently throughout our facility. In this hands-on position, you’ll pull and stage materials needed for Blending and Extrusion production, operate material-handling equipment, maintain accurate inventory information, and help ensure production teams have the correct materials when and where they are needed. Position Details Full-Time Fixed Work Schedule Weekly Pay Overtime as Needed Compensation Competitive Hourly Wages Additional Shift Premium for 2nd & 3rd Shift Positions Performance-Based Pay Reviews at 90 Days and Annually What You’ll Do Material Handlers are responsible for supporting material flow and inventory accuracy by pulling, staging, moving, and organizing materials. Pull and stage materials according to production needs, work requirements, and established procedures. Supply Blending and Extrusion with the materials needed to support scheduled production. Safely transport raw materials, finished materials, containers, and other inventory throughout designated areas of the facility. Operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment in accordance with established safety requirements. Verify materials, quantities, labels, and locations before materials are moved or staged for production. Utilize internal inventory and production systems as required to support accurate material movement and inventory records. Complete required material transactions and documentation accurately and in a timely manner. Maintain organized material storage and staging areas to support safe and efficient operations. Identify and communicate material shortages, inventory discrepancies, damaged materials, or other concerns that may affect production. Coordinate with Inventory Resources, Blending, Extrusion, Grinding, Quality, and other team members to support production needs and material flow. Follow established safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE). Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area. Perform other duties as assigned based on operational needs. What We’re Looking For We’re looking for someone who is dependable, safety-conscious, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced warehouse and manufacturing environment. Ability to follow written instructions, established procedures, and work requirements. Ability to safely operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment. Basic math and computer skills. Strong attention to detail when identifying, moving, and documenting materials. Ability to maintain accurate inventory and material information. Ability to prioritize material needs and respond to changing production requirements. Ability to recognize and communicate material, inventory, or safety concerns. Reliable and punctual attendance. Ability to work independently while communicating effectively with production and inventory team members. Previous forklift or material-handling experience is preferred. Previous experience in warehousing, inventory, manufacturing, or a similar industrial environment is preferred. Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) is beneficial. Physical & Work Environment This is an active, hands-on position within a warehouse and industrial manufacturing environment. The role requires extended standing and walking on concrete, climbing stairs, bending, stooping, reaching, and performing physical activities throughout the shift. Team members must be able to frequently lift or move up to 50 lbs. and occasionally up to 75 lbs. The work environment may include exposure to noise, temperature extremes, dust, forklift traffic, industrial processing equipment, warehouse storage areas, and occasional outdoor work.
