Job Title: Material Handler Reports To: Materials Manager Summary: The Material Handler is responsible for the safe, accurate, and efficient movement of materials throughout the production facility and yard. This position plays a critical role in ensuring that the right components, raw materials, and finished goods are delivered to the appropriate departments to keep production running smoothly. The Material Handler supports all areas of the plant by maintaining inventory organization, assisting with loading and unloading, and upholding Evotti’s standards for quality, safety, and efficiency. Responsibilities: Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment to move, stage, and deliver materials throughout the facility and yard. Load and unload incoming shipments and finished products safely and efficiently. Deliver materials, pontoons, and subassemblies to production areas per job traveler or schedule. Maintain organized staging areas, ensuring materials are properly labeled and stored. Record material movement and maintain inventory accuracy in coordination with production and warehouse teams. Perform daily safety inspections and basic maintenance on forklifts and handling equipment. Assist with packaging, strapping, and preparing completed orders for shipment. Follow all Evotti safety procedures and wear proper PPE at all times. Support cross-department operations as needed to meet production goals. Competencies: Skilled in operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and yard equipment safely and efficiently. Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in fast-paced environments. Effective communication and teamwork across departments. Organizational skills for inventory management and staging efficiency. Dependable, punctual, and proactive in identifying material or workflow needs. Commitment to maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient workspace. Required education and experience: 2-3 years of forklift or heavy equipment operation experience preferred. Proven forklift knowledge and ability to obtain re-certification. Preferred education and experience: High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent. 1-2 years of experience in the marine industry or similar role operating forklift or heavy-duty equipment with prior experience handling aluminum, tubing, or marine components is a plus. Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities. May assist in training new material handlers or operators as assigned. Physical Demands: Ability to sit, stand, and operate heavy equipment for extended periods. Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs. Ability to work in outdoor environments with exposure to seasonal weather year-round. Work environment: Standard manufacturing environment. Work is performed inside or outside year-round. There is exposure to dirt, dust, noise, equipment, vibrations, and seasonal weather conditions. All necessary PPE will be provided. Travel Requirements: There is no travel required for this role.
