Material Handler
The Peggs CompanyMaterial Handler – Powder Coating The Peggs Company is looking for a dependable Material Handler to join our Powder Coating Department. This position supports our powder coating operation by loading and unloading production racks, inspecting materials, packaging finished products, and helping maintain an efficient flow of parts throughout the production process. What You’ll Do Load and unload parts from production racks. Inspect incoming and in-process materials for damage, rust, corrosion, and other defects. Package finished materials according to department procedures. Assist with rack setup, configuration, and maintenance. Perform in-process quality inspections and complete required Quality Assurance/Quality Control documentation. Record production counts and verify production information. Assist with shop travelers and other production documentation. Follow production schedules and work instructions to keep materials moving efficiently. Maintain material handling and packaging equipment. Perform routine housekeeping and help maintain a clean, organized work area. Follow established safety, quality, and production procedures. Operate a lift truck as required. What We’re Looking For Ability to read and follow written specifications, work instructions, and procedures. Ability to follow both written and verbal directions. Basic reading, writing, and math skills. Basic understanding of powder coating processes preferred. Ability to accurately complete production and quality documentation. Lift truck operation and safety certification required. Dependable, safety-conscious, and comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Physical & Work Environment This is a hands-on manufacturing position. Employees must be able to lift 50–75 lbs. , regularly bend, reach, and move throughout the production facility, and stand for approximately 7–8 hours per day . The position works around industrial ovens and powder coating equipment. The work environment may include temperatures ranging from approximately 75–120°F , noise levels above 85 dB, and exposure to powder and dust. Required PPE, including hearing, eye, and respiratory protection, must be worn as applicable
