Position Summary The Material Handler is responsible for receiving, storing, issuing, and transporting materials throughout the facility to support production and customer requirements. This position maintains accurate inventory records, verifies incoming materials, supports material flow, and ensures warehouse operations are conducted safely and efficiently Key Responsibilities · Receive incoming materials and verify quantities against purchase orders and packing lists. · Complete receiving transactions and maintain accurate inventory records within company systems. · Store materials in designated warehouse locations according to established procedures. · Verify receiving approvals before locating materials into inventory. · Pull and issue materials to support production requirements. · Label and identify materials to maintain traceability and inventory accuracy. · Move materials throughout the facility using forklifts, pallet jacks, and other approved equipment. · Return rejected materials and other items to suppliers with appropriate documentation. · Read work orders and follow instructions regarding material movement and replenishment. · Assist with inventory counts and inventory control activities. · Maintain accurate inventory and warehouse records. · Maintain an organized, clean, and safe environment. · Follow all company policies, procedures, work instructions, quality requirements, and safety standards. · Participate in departmental and company-wide continuous improvement activities. · Perform other reasonable duties as assigned based on business needs Qualifications Education · High school diploma or GED required. Experience · Previous shipping, receiving, warehouse, inventory, or material handling experience preferred. · Manufacturing experience preferred. · Basic computer and data-entry experience preferred. Technical Knowledge · Ability to accurately count, identify, and track inventory. · Knowledge of inventory control and warehouse processes preferred. · Ability to read work orders, purchase orders, and packing documentation. · Must successfully complete Wolverine Coil Spring forklift certification requirements. · Strong organizational and detail-oriented skills. · Basic computer skills required for inventory transactions and recordkeeping Physical & Work Environment · Work is performed primarily within a manufacturing and warehouse environment. · Regularly stands, walks, bends, reaches, lifts, and moves materials throughout the facility. · Frequently operates forklifts and other material-handling equipment. · Regularly handles materials of varying sizes and weights using safe work practices. · Must follow all required PPE and safety requirements while working within warehouse and production areas Key Competencies Safety Focus : Consistently follows safe material-handling procedures and equipment requirements. Communication: Works effectively with Production, Purchasing, Shipping, Quality, and Operations teams. Dependability: Consistently performs warehouse responsibilities accurately and on time. Problem Solving: Identifies inventory and material flow issues and works toward effective solutions. Teamwork: Collaborates across departments to support production and customer requirements. Continuous Improvement: Participates in efforts to improve warehouse organization, inventory accuracy, and operational efficiency.
