Material Handler

Position Summary Unity Meals is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Food Production Material Handler to receive, organize, prepare, and deliver ingredients and supplies to production areas. Must have basic math and numerical skills, understand FIFO inventory procedures, and be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Proactively monitor and supply production lines to ensure continuous operation; anticipate and respond to material needs during production runs to prevent any downtime. Perform changeovers as needed, including changing packaging film and other materials, and assist with line setting up according to specific product specifications. Work closely with production leads and operators to communicate material requirements, resolve issues, and maintain efficient workflow. Ensure all materials and ingredients are staged and ready at the start of each shift and throughout production to avoid interruptions. Receive, inspect, organize, and store ingredients and supplies. Deliver materials to production lines as needed. Follow FIFO (First In, First Out) inventory procedures. Verify quantities, weights, lot numbers, and expiration dates. Count, measure, and weigh ingredients accurately. Maintain inventory accuracy and report shortages. Follow food safety, GMP, sanitation, and safety procedures. Maintain clean and organized work areas. Qualifications and Requirements Minimum 3 years’ experience working on a food production line or in a similar fast-paced food manufacturing environment. Ability to read and interpret production specifications (Specs) and set up lines accordingly. Demonstrated initiative and strong problem-solving skills to maintain uninterrupted production and quickly address any materials-related issues. Food production, warehouse, or material handling experience preferred. Basic math and numerical skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Ability to count, measure, weigh, and verify quantities accurately. Understanding of FIFO inventory procedures. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly. Ability to work in a fast-paced food production environment. Physical Requirements Frequently stand, walk, bend, reach, and lift. Lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds. Work in refrigerated or temperature-controlled areas when required.
