Material Handler

Job Summary The Ammunition Handler / Material Handling Labor supports daily operations at the Fort Leonard Wood Ammunition Supply Point (ASP). This position performs ammunition‑related warehousing tasks in accordance with established U.S. Army procedures and site policies. Duties include receiving, inspecting, storing, issuing, and preparing ammunition and materials for movement. Work is performed in both indoor and outdoor environments and requires adherence to safety, accountability, and compliance standards. This position works as a member of a team and independently on routine tasks while supporting a fast‑paced, mission‑driven work center. Ammunition/Material Handling Verify materials against receiving documents and report discrepancies Route materials to designated storage locations Store, stack, palletize, and rearrange ammunition and materials using approved methods Inspect stored materials and report deterioration or damage Remove materials from storage and prepare them for issue or shipment Operate hand trucks, forklifts, and other material‑handling equipment Follow all ammunition‑handling safety procedures and site requirements Physical Demands This position requires the ability to: Bend, stoop, climb, and reach regularly during material‑handling tasks Lift, carry, and maneuver at least 50 pounds on a routine basis Stand and walk on hard surfaces for an entire 8‑hour shift Work in heat, cold, dust, and inclement weather Perform repetitive motions and operate material‑handling equipment safely These physical requirements are essential job functions.
