Position Summary The Material Handler is responsible for the safe and efficient movement, handling, storage, preparation, and shipment of materials, inventory, parts, and finished products. This position operates forklifts, tow motors, overhead cranes, pallet jacks, and other material-handling equipment to ensure products are transported safely and accurately to their designated locations. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-conscious, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in both indoor and outdoor environments. Essential Responsibilities Safely operate an overhead crane using chains and appropriate lifting practices. Safely operate a tow motor/forklift and pallet jack to move and position materials. Load, unload, move, and properly store raw materials, parts, inventory, and finished products. Prepare finished products for shipment, including identifying, pulling, staging, packing, crating, loading, and securing products. Review packing slips, bills of lading, and other shipping documentation for accuracy. Complete paperwork and accurately record material and inventory transactions. Verify material identification and report shortages, damaged materials, or discrepancies to supervision. Use basic math and a tape measure to accurately measure and handle materials. Properly lift, balance, position, and secure loads. Perform physical labor, including lifting and moving materials weighing up to 50 pounds as needed. Inspect tools and equipment before and during use and report faulty equipment, defective materials, improper operations, or unusual conditions to supervision. Follow all company safety policies, procedures, rules, and regulations. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Exercise proper care when using tools, equipment, and materials. Work effectively with team members to meet production, shipping, and operational goals. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications & Requirements High school diploma or equivalent preferred. At least one year of forklift/tow motor experience preferred. Forklift certification preferred. At least one year of experience in material handling, warehousing, logistics, manufacturing, or a related environment preferred. Ability to safely operate material-handling equipment. Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions. Basic math skills and the ability to accurately use a tape measure. Ability to complete paperwork and maintain accurate records. Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds as needed. Ability and willingness to work in outdoor environments and varying weather conditions.
