Role and Responsibilities of Material Handler:
In this role, you will manage inventory flow, operate equipment, and maintain a safe, organized sales floor while delivering excellent member service. You will collaborate with team members and use company tools to complete tasks efficiently and meet operational goals.
• Operate forklifts safely to pick, move, and position merchandise pallets according to company guidelines
• Receive, stock, and organize merchandise and supplies from distribution centers and suppliers
• Maintain accurate inventory flow by tracking stock levels, correcting discrepancies, and completing required documentation
• Ensure the sales floor is properly zoned, stocked, and merchandised, including setting up displays and removing damaged or outdated goods
• Conduct safety sweeps and follow procedures for handling hazardous materials and maintaining facility safety
• Assist members by identifying needs, locating merchandise, supporting purchasing decisions, and resolving concerns
• Support club pick-up orders by selecting, staging, and auditing orders for accuracy and timeliness
• Use inventory tools, handheld devices, and technology to improve operations and enhance member engagement
• Monitor shrink, security risks, and safety concerns, and report issues to management
• Collaborate with managers and team members to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and improve processes
Required Skills and Experience of Material Handler:
• Minimum of 90 days of prior experience with forklift certification
• Ability to safely operate pallet jacks and material handling equipment
• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Ability to follow company policies, safety standards, and operational procedures
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with team members and customers
Preferred Qualifications:
• Customer service experience
• Retail experience
• Experience supervising a team
Compensation and Benefits of Material Handler:
• Hourly wage range of $20.00 to $28.00 per hour
• Additional premium pay ranging from $0.35 to $3.00 per hour based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed
