Schedule: M-F / 2:30pm-11:30pm overtime and weekends as needed The Opportunity When you join Smurfit Westrock, you will be joining a team that creates sustainable paper and packaging solutions that help move the world forward. As a Material Handler, you will play a critical role in supporting warehouse operations by ensuring materials and finished goods are accurately received, stored, moved, and shipped throughout the facility. You will work closely with warehouse, production, customer service, and leadership teams to maintain inventory accuracy, support customer deliveries, and uphold safety and quality standards. This role is essential to keeping operations running efficiently while delivering exceptional service to our customers. How You Will Make An Impact Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment to safely move, load, unload, and store materials throughout the warehouse. Receive, inspect, sort, and place incoming products and materials into designated inventory locations while maintaining inventory accuracy. Support shipping operations by preparing, staging, and transporting customer orders for on-time delivery. Maintain accurate inventory records through system transactions, product labeling, and participation in cycle counts and inventory audits. Verify product quantities and quality standards before shipment to ensure customer satisfaction and operational excellence. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment through routine housekeeping and adherence to safety procedures. Communicate inventory, product, safety, and customer concerns proactively and support timely resolution of operational issues. Required Qualifications What You Need to Succeed High school diploma or equivalent. Forklift certification or the ability to obtain and maintain certification. Ability to safely operate forklifts and other material handling equipment. Fluency in English, both verbal and written. Ability to routinely lift up to 50 pounds without assistance. Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform physical work throughout the shift. Ability to work in varying environmental conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and other weather-related conditions. Ability to work the assigned schedule, including overtime and weekends as needed. Commitment to following all safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements. Preferred Qualifications One or more years of warehouse, shipping, receiving, or material handling experience. Experience working in a manufacturing, packaging, distribution, or industrial environment. Experience with inventory management, warehouse management, or ERP systems. Basic computer literacy and experience entering data into business systems. Experience supporting inventory control, cycle counting, or continuous improvement initiatives. The starting rate for this position is $20.00, depending on your role, level, and location. The benefits for this role may include short-term bonus incentive, health, dental and vision insurance, flexible spending accounts or health savings accounts, retirement savings plans, life and disability insurance programs, and paid sick leave as required by applicable state/local law, 10 days of paid vacation, and 11 days of paid holidays, subject to annual change.
