Non-Exempt Hourly, overtime eligible (1.5x hourly rate for hours over 8/day or 40/week) Location: On-site in Berkeley, CA and Richmond, CA Benefits: Health and Dental (30+ hours/week), Paid Sick Leave, PTO Position Summary We are seeking an organized, detail-oriented Materials Coordinator to manage hands-on inventory, purchasing, and build-support operations. In this role, you will be responsible for purchasing parts directly from Bills of Materials (BOMs), handling incoming shipments, prepping and kitting parts for production or engineering builds, and running shortage analyses to keep build schedules on track. This is an early-career position ideal for someone with 3 - 5 years of experience in supply chain, inventory, or receiving who thrives in a fast-paced hardware or manufacturing environment and wants to grow their supply chain operations skill set. Key ResponsibilitiesPurchasing & Order Tracking Purchase raw materials, electronic components, and off-the-shelf parts directly from release-ready BOMs and purchase requisitions. Issue Purchase Orders (POs), track vendor order confirmations, and ensure on-time delivery to support engineering and build schedules. Communicate with suppliers to obtain quotes, update lead times, and resolve shipping delays. Receiving & Inventory Control Inspect, count, and receive all incoming deliveries against purchase orders and packing slips. Log received items into inventory software/ERP and properly route or store components in designated stockroom locations. Conduct regular cycle counts to ensure physical inventory matches system records. Kitting & Build Support Pull, count, and package component kits per assembly BOMs for engineering prototypes, test builds, or production runs. Stage kits for the assembly/manufacturing team and issue parts out of inventory accurately. Manage line-side stock, replenishment, and consumable hardware supplies. BOM Shortage Analysis & Risk Mitigation Run and evaluate shortage reports against scheduled builds to identify missing or long-lead items early. Flag component shortages, long lead times, or end-of-life (EOL) risks to engineering and procurement teams. Help track clear-to-build (CTB) status for upcoming builds. Stakeholder Collaboration Collaborate with Finance and Accounting to ensure that proper expense categorization, GL coding, and specific tax treatments are applied to all purchases. Office Management & Administrative Support Serve as the central point of contact for day-today-day office operations such as managing lunch orders, front-office operations such as hosting visitors while ensuring facility security and managing all incoming/outgoing mail and courier services. Coordinate third-party office management vendors such as facility contractors, janitorial services, and others as needed. Key Qualifications Experience: 1–3 years of experience in purchasing, receiving, inventory management, or stockroom operations (hardware/electronics/manufacturing background preferred). Technical Skills: Basic understanding of Bills of Materials (BOMs), engineering drawings, and component part numbers. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets (vlookups, basic data filtering/reporting). Familiarity with inventory control systems, ERP, or MRP software (e.g., NetSuite, Arena, Odoo, SAP, or similar). Soft Skills: Exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational habits, and clear written/verbal communication. Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 40 lbs, walk/stand for extended periods in a stockroom/warehouse environment, and handle delicate components.
