Material Control Analyst

The Material Control Analyst is responsible for supporting the efficient management, tracking, and control of materials and inventory within the operation. This role analyzes inventory data, monitors material movement, identifies discrepancies, and partners with Operations, Procurement, Maintenance, and other stakeholders to ensure materials are available when needed while maintaining accurate inventory records. The position will utilize warehouse management systems, inventory reporting, and data analysis to improve inventory accuracy, optimize material flow, reduce shortages and excess inventory, and support operational efficiency. The Material Control Analyst will also investigate inventory variances, develop reports, identify trends, and recommend process improvements to strengthen material control and overall supply chain performance. About the Role The Material Control Analyst is responsible for supporting inventory management systems and operational processes. This role serves as a key link between warehouse operations, inventory management, technology, and business leadership to ensure inventory data is accurate, systems are functioning effectively, and operational processes continuously improve. The Inventory Systems Analyst will monitor and analyze inventory transactions, investigate system and data discrepancies, develop operational reporting, maintain data integrity, and identify opportunities to improve inventory accuracy, productivity, and system performance. The position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and the flexibility to support a continuously operating logistics environment. Key Responsibilities: Monitor inventory levels, transactions, adjustments, transfers, receipts, shipments, and cycle counts across supported facilities. Analyze inventory discrepancies and identify root causes of shortages, overages, mislocations, and system variances. Support inventory accuracy initiatives and develop corrective actions to reduce recurring discrepancies. Partner with warehouse and operations teams to ensure inventory transactions are completed accurately and timely. Support cycle count programs, physical inventories, reconciliations, and inventory audits. Monitor inventory activity across Palmetto, Union City, and Fairburn locations and identify trends or operational concerns. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Information Systems, Business Analytics, Operations Management, or a related field preferred. 2+ years of experience in inventory management, logistics, warehouse operations, systems analysis, data analysis, or a related field. Experience working with WMS, ERP, inventory management, or other logisticsrelated systems. Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, data analysis, and reporting. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret large volumes of data. Excellent attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy. Ability to investigate discrepancies and identify root causes. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work effectively with operations, IT, finance, and other cross-functional teams. Ability to prioritize multiple issues in a fast-paced, 24/7 operating environment. Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting multiple distribution centers or logistics facilities. Experience with WMS implementations, upgrades, integrations, or system testing. Knowledge of SQL, Power BI, Tableau, or other business intelligence/reporting tools. Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous-improvement experience.
