The Production Scheduler owns the development, execution, and continuous improvement of the near-term finite production schedule, translating approved supply plans into executable manufacturing schedules. This role balances material availability, labor and equipment constraints, customer service requirements, and operational efficiency to ensure reliable execution. The Production Scheduler serves as the primary point of coordination between Supply Planning, Operations, and supporting functions, providing timely communication of production priorities, risks, and schedule changes across the organization. Key Responsibilities: Schedule Ownership & Execution Convert the approved supply plan into an executable finite production schedule that meets customer service, inventory, and cost objectives. Maintain and execute the near-term production schedule, optimizing sequencing, run lengths, and changeovers to meet required ship dates. Evaluate and balance labor, material, and equipment constraints to maximize utilization of manufacturing assets. Issue Resolution & Coordination Proactively identify schedule risks related to material shortages, labor constraints, equipment downtime, or engineering changes. Revise production schedules as required and communicate impacts, priorities, and recovery plans to Operations, Supply Planning, and other stakeholders. Partner cross-functionally with Operations, Procurement, Distribution, Quality, and Customer Service to resolve execution issues and prevent delays. Performance & KPI Management Monitor and drive performance against key KPIs including schedule adherence, attainment, fill rate, service level, and inventory targets. Track production output, material consumption, and quality data to identify trends and improvement opportunities. Systems & Continuous Improvement Utilize ERP/MRP systems and Excel-based tools to manage schedules, capacity assumptions, routings, and BOM accuracy. Monitor and manage excess and obsolete WIP, raw material, and component inventories. Contribute planning analysis to cross-functional projects and continuous improvement initiatives. Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related field. 4+ years of experience in production scheduling, manufacturing planning, or related roles within a manufacturing environment (food or CPG preferred). Demonstrated ability to manage short-term production schedules in a constrained, fast-paced environment. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and root-cause analysis skills. Ability to influence cross-functional teams and communicate effectively with operations and leadership. Advanced proficiency in Excel; experience with ERP/MRP systems required (MS D365 preferred). Experience with continuous improvement methodologies (Six Sigma, Lean, or similar) preferred.
