DEPARTMENT: Production Control & Logistics (PC&L) REPORTS TO: Production Control & Logistics Manager POSITION SUMMARY : The Master Scheduler is responsible for managing customer orders from receipt through shipment while developing and maintaining production schedules to ensure on-time delivery to both internal and external customers. This role owns the scheduling process and works cross-functionally with Operations, Purchasing, Sales, and Shipping/Receiving to align materials, labor, and machine capacity. This position requires strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and the ability to proactively identify risks, constraints, and opportunities to improve throughput, inventory control, and overall operational efficiency. Responsibilities: · Receive, confirm, and enter customer orders into the operating system; create and manage production jobs to meet demand · Develop and maintain production schedules aligned with capacity, material availability, and customer requirements · Collaborate with Purchasing to ensure timely availability of raw materials and components · Analyze backorders, current demand, and forecasted orders to prioritize production activities · Plan machine, material, and labor requirements to support production execution · Identify and communicate scheduling risks, constraints, and gaps to leadership · Develop and implement run strategies to improve throughput while managing inventory levels · Participate in weekly production scheduling and planning meetings · Support initiatives to improve OEE, efficiency, and overall production performance · Communicate proactively with internal teams and external suppliers to ensure on-time delivery · Manage expedited orders, including communication of timing, costs, and logistics · Maintain regular communication with customers regarding delivery status and potential risks · Prepare reports and provide recommendations to improve processes, reduce waste, and increase profitability · Escalate issues as needed to ensure timely resolution · Perform additional duties as assigned Education & Experience · High school diploma or equivalent required · Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Management, or related field preferred · Minimum of 3–5+ years of experience in production planning, scheduling, or supply chain within manufacturing environment · Experience with ERP systems required (PLEX strongly preferred) Knowledge, Skills & Abilities · Strong understanding of production planning, scheduling, and inventory management principles · Knowledge of lean manufacturing concepts, capacity planning, and material flow · Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make informed decisions · Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities · Excellent communication and collaboration skills across departments · Ability to problem-solve in a fast-paced manufacturing environment · High attention to detail …
