Keep Every Press Running. Keep Every Promise On Time. Are you the person who sees the whole forge at once - every press, every furnace, every job in the queue - and knows exactly how to make it all fit? Do you get satisfaction from turning a stack of competing priorities into a schedule people can actually run? Milwaukee Forge is looking for a Master Scheduler to own our production schedule from order to ship date. You will balance customer demand against press, heat treat, machining, and finishing capacity, give Sales dates they can count on, and give the floor a plan they can execute. If you are an analytical, steady, and decisive planner who thrives in a fast-moving manufacturing environment, this is a role where your work shows up every day in on-time shipments. What You'll Do Build and Run the Schedule Develop and maintain the master production schedule in our ERP system based on customer orders, forecasts, and inventory Plan capacity across forging presses, heat treat, machine shop, die polishing, and finishing, and spot constraints before they become late orders Sequence jobs to maximize throughput, reduce changeovers, and protect customer due dates Manage rush orders, expedites, and schedule changes while limiting disruption to the rest of the floor Connect the Plant Work with Purchasing to make sure material, tooling, and outside processing support the schedule Give Sales and Customer Service reliable promise dates and prompt updates when things change Lead the daily production meeting and join weekly planning reviews to align priorities across departments Coordinate with Maintenance so planned downtime is built into the schedule Measure and Improve Track on-time delivery, schedule attainment, and capacity utilization, and act on what the numbers show Keep routings, lead times, and scheduling data in the ERP accurate and current Recommend improvements to planning and scheduling practices that make the whole operation run smoother What You Bring Experience & Knowledge 3 to 5 years of production scheduling, production planning, or master scheduling experience in a manufacturing environment Forging, metals, machining, or job shop experience strongly preferred Working knowledge of ERP and MRP systems, capacity planning, routings, and work orders, plus solid spreadsheet skills Associate's degree in business, supply chain, operations, or a related field, or equivalent experience (bachelor's degree or APICS CPIM preferred) Skills & Work Style Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to weigh competing priorities and make sound calls Clear, confident communication with production supervisors, Sales, Purchasing, Quality, and customers Calm and decisive when the schedule changes, with the ability to influence outcomes without direct authority Comfortable moving between the office and the production floor Work Environment This role splits time between the office and the production floor. Floor time includes exposure to heavy equipment, overhead cranes, elevated temperatures, and loud noise. Required PPE includes safety glasses, safety shoes, and hearing protection.
