Master Production Planner — Aerospace & Defense Manufacturing

You See the Whole Board. Everyone Else Is Playing Checkers.

At GTC, precision aerospace and defense programs don't ship on hope — they ship on a plan. The Master Production Planner is the person who builds that plan, maintains it under pressure, translates business demand into executable capacity, and makes sure the entire organization knows what's coming before it arrives. You're the connective tissue between Business Development, Program Management, Finance, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain — and when you do your job well, everything else runs smoother.

If you're a planner who thrives on complexity, owns the data, and communicates with the kind of clarity that actually moves people to action, GTC is where your skills make the most impact.

And through our Ownership For All program, the production efficiency you create and the schedule discipline you build here grows something that's genuinely yours. Every eligible full-time employee receives an ownership stake in GTC. From day one, you're not just joining a team. You're becoming an owner. Your wins aren't just good for the company. They're good for you.

What You'll Do

  • Translate current business demand, sales forecasts, and historical data into a Master Production Plan and Resource Requirements Plan — then keep them current as conditions change
  • Build and maintain Rough Cut Capacity Plans and detailed, time-phased Capacity Requirements Plans that give operations a clear, executable picture of what's ahead
  • Configure and maintain the MRP system as a finite loading model of operational throughput — verifying scheduling outputs for accuracy, work center loading, and alignment to customer shipment dates
  • Monitor actual output versus the Master Production Plan, identify gaps early, and drive solutions before they become disruptions
  • Perform quarterly demand analysis, flagging areas of concern across the next 12-month horizon and communicating impact clearly to the right levels of the organization
  • Conduct monthly backlog reviews with Project Managers to surface schedule changes that could affect internal operations or customer commitments
  • Review Business Development opportunities monthly and propose realistic delivery commitments based on current and projected demand — you're part of the conversation before the deal is done
  • Update the Master Production Plan in support of SOP process meetings, ensuring stakeholders in Program Management, Finance, Manufacturing, Technical Services, Quality, and Supply Chain are always working from accurate, current information
  • Develop, execute, and maintain tools and techniques to evaluate the impact of proposed schedule changes before they cascade
  • Coordinate closely with Production Control Coordinators to execute the production schedule week to week and month to month
  • Report key metrics on production performance to the schedule — clearly, consistently, and on time

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or a related field
  • Minimum of five years of experience managing manufacturing processes with a strong focus on productivity and efficiency measurement
  • Demonstrated experience managing project and program financial performance
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP data collection systems — experience with Tactic is a meaningful plus
  • Sound knowledge of supply chain processes including manufacturing planning, demand analysis, and replenishment systems
  • APICS certification — CPIM or CSCP — is a strong plus
  • Strong negotiation skills and the confidence to reason and influence effectively at every level of the organization
  • The analytical horsepower to manage complexity, resolve competing priorities, and build models that hold up under scrutiny
  • Clear, compelling communication and presentation skills — you translate data into decisions, not just slides
  • A highly collaborative approach and the initiative to build the cross-functional relationships that make planning actually work
