We are expanding our consumer-electronics product lines and looking for an experienced Marketplace Product & Catalog Manager to join our team immediately. This is an in-office position for someone who can identify profitable products, improve marketplace and inventory performance, and help automate product listings from multiple vendors. Position Summary The Marketplace Product & Catalog Manager will focus on three primary areas: Identifying profitable, fast-moving products and making purchasing recommendations. Monitoring marketplace sales performance and managing inventory requirements. Automating vendor product feeds and catalog listings across our selling channels. Successful recommendations must consider sales demand, product cost, marketplace fees, shipping, competition, returns, inventory risk, and net profit. Key Responsibilities Product Research and Purchasing Recommendations Research fast-moving consumer-electronics products across Amazon, Best Buy, eBay, Walmart, Shopify, Newegg, and Newegg Business. Analyze company sales data to identify top-selling, declining, slow-moving, and emerging products. Review vendor catalogs, price lists, inventory feeds, promotions, and new-product releases. Evaluate product demand, sales velocity, marketplace ranking, price history, competition, seller count, return risk, and product lifecycle. Calculate expected profitability after product cost, marketplace fees, shipping, fulfillment, advertising, returns, and other expenses. Recommend which products the company should purchase. Recommend order quantities, target purchase costs, expected selling prices, and the best marketplaces for each product. Identify products that should not be purchased because of low margins, unstable pricing, excessive competition, restrictions, high return rates, or replacement-model risk. Maintain a prioritized list of purchasing opportunities supported by sales and profitability data. Monitor new releases, discontinued products, seasonal opportunities, and consumer-electronics trends. Marketplace Performance and Inventory Management Monitor product performance across all company selling portals. Track sales, units sold, sales velocity, pricing, margins, inventory, returns, and listing status. Identify top-selling, out-of-stock, overstocked, slow-moving, and unprofitable products. Monitor competitor pricing, product availability, and Buy Box performance. Recommend reorder quantities using sales velocity, lead time, seasonality, and available inventory. Establish appropriate reorder points, safety-stock levels, and inventory buffers. Recommend how inventory should be allocated among marketplaces. Help prevent stockouts, overselling, excess inventory, and products being sold below approved margins. Recommend markdown, promotion, or liquidation strategies for aged and slow-moving inventory. Prepare weekly reports covering marketplace performance, product opportunities, inventory risks, and purchasing recommendations. Vendor-Feed and Catalog Automation Manage product information received from multiple vendors. Review vendor feeds containing product costs, inventory, descriptions, specifications, images, UPCs, MPNs, and availability. Match vendor products to marketplace listings using UPC, EAN, GTIN, MPN, SKU, brand, and model information. Standardize vendor information for use across all marketplaces. Develop rules for product matching, SKU creation, pricing, category mapping, inventory buffers, titles, descriptions, and marketplace eligibility. Automate or coordinate the publication of approved vendor products across all company selling channels.
