This position demands a comprehensive understanding of maritime regulations, vessel operations, safety protocols, and efficient resource management. The incumbent oversees a team of personnel engaged in vessel operations and logistics to ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and legal requirements. This position will work with voyage planning, preparation of load/discharge plans, stowage, and port operations. QUALIFICATIONS: Required Minimum of two (2) years' experience stowing vessels with containerized and break-bulk cargoes. Minimum of two (2) years supervisory experience in a related field or equivalent combination of education and field experience. Basic knowledge of utilizing two-way handheld radio. Proficient in speaking, reading, and writing English at an advanced level in a business environment. Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively. Assertive individual with excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to communicate effectively in an industrial environment. Demonstrated ability to lead others and participate as a team player when needed. Ability to work independently with limited supervision and display strong initiative. Willingness to work multiple operations and flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Capacity to think logically, establish and follow procedures, instructions, and make sound decisions. Willingness to work a flexible schedule, extended hours, holidays, and/or weekends as needed. Preferred Bachelor's degree in Maritime Studies, Marine Engineering, Logistics, or a related field. Hazmat certification highly desirable. Familiarization with OSHA regulations desired. Intermediate skills in programs such as MS Word, Excel, and Outlook. Experience in AS-400 system is a plus. Bilingual proficiency (English/Spanish) is a plus. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Primary Coordinate and oversee all aspects of vessel operations, including loading, unloading, berthing, and departure procedures. Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to optimize cargo handling processes, minimize turnaround times, and enhance overall operational efficiency. Ensure compliance with safety regulations, maritime laws, and environmental standards during vessel operations. Monitor vessel schedules and optimize operational efficiency to meet customer demands and company objectives. Collaborate with other departments, such as logistics, maintenance, and port authorities, to streamline operations and resolve any operational issues. Optimize the allocation of resources, including personnel, equipment, and supplies, to maximize operational efficiency and minimize costs. Identify opportunities for process improvements, automation, or technology adoption to streamline operations and enhance productivity.
