Marine Diesel Mechanic – Yacht & Boatyard
ConfidentialAn established yacht service and boatyard operation in Yarmouth, Maine, is seeking an experienced Marine Diesel Mechanic to join its technical team. This position is ideal for a hands-on marine technician with experience servicing, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines aboard recreational vessels, yachts, and commercial boats. Responsibilities Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain marine diesel engines. Perform engine rebuilds, routine maintenance, and mechanical repairs. Service marine propulsion systems, transmissions, and related equipment. Troubleshoot mechanical, cooling, fuel, and exhaust systems. Perform vessel inspections and preventative maintenance. Work independently and alongside experienced boatyard technicians. Qualifications Previous marine diesel engine experience required. Experience working in a boatyard, yacht service facility, or marine repair operation strongly preferred. Familiarity with Caterpillar, Cummins, Volvo Penta, Yanmar, MAN, or similar marine diesel engines. Strong mechanical troubleshooting and diagnostic capabilities. Ability to work independently and communicate professionally. Experience aboard yachts or recreational vessels is highly desirable. What We Offer Full-time, year-round employment.
