The Landings Association, Inc.Forklift Operator / Dockhand The Landings Association | Savannah, GA The Landings Association is seeking a dependable, safety-focused Forklift Operator / Dockhand to join our Marina team. This position combines boat handling and forklift operation with hands-on dock and marina responsibilities, making it a great fit for someone who enjoys working outdoors, operating equipment, and providing excellent service in a waterfront environment. The Forklift Operator / Dockhand plays an important role in the safe and efficient daily operation of the marina. This position is responsible for operating marina equipment to safely launch, retrieve, move, and store vessels while also assisting with dock operations, maintaining clean and organized marina areas, and supporting members and guests. What You'll Do Safely operate a marina forklift to launch, retrieve, move, and store boats. Handle vessels carefully and follow established procedures to prevent damage to boats, equipment, and marina facilities. Assist with docking and undocking vessels, including handling lines and helping boaters as needed. Perform general dockhand duties and support day-to-day marina operations. Provide friendly, professional service to members, residents, guests, and fellow team members. Maintain clean, safe, and organized docks, work areas, equipment, and marina facilities. Conduct routine visual inspections of equipment and report maintenance or safety concerns promptly. Follow all established safety procedures when operating forklifts and other marina equipment. Assist with fueling, marina services, and other operational needs as assigned. Work closely with the Marina team to ensure boats are moved and handled safely and efficiently. Assist with additional marina projects and duties as needed. What We're Looking For We are looking for someone who takes safety seriously, communicates well, and can be trusted to handle equipment and customers' property with care. The ideal candidate will: Have previous forklift, heavy equipment, marina, boating, or similar hands-on experience. Be comfortable operating equipment in an active marina environment. Demonstrate strong attention to detail and good judgment. Be dependable, punctual, and able to work effectively as part of a team. Provide professional and courteous customer service. Be comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, sun, wind, and rain. Be able to perform the physical requirements of dock and marina work. Be willing to learn marina-specific equipment and procedures. Previous experience operating a marina forklift or handling boats is strongly preferred. Schedule This is a hands-on marina position that may require a flexible schedule based on operational needs. Availability may include weekends, holidays, and varying shifts.
