Manufacturing Planner I – Machine Shop

POSITION SUMMARY: As a Manufacturing Planner specializing in the Machining Center, you will play a crucial role in our production process, ensuring efficient and timely manufacturing operations. Your responsibilities will include: Creating production schedules and plans for the Machine Shop manufacturing processes, considering material availability, production capacity, lead times, and customer demands. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including production, procurement, and engineering, to coordinate and prioritize manufacturing activities. Monitor production progress and address any issues or delays to ensure on-time delivery of products. Optimizing production workflows and processes to improve efficiency and reduce waste. Providing input for continuous improvement initiatives to enhance manufacturing operations. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE/KEY QUALIFICATIONS: Proven experience in manufacturing planning, specifically in the machining commodity. Proficiency in production scheduling software and MRP/ERP systems. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to forecast and anticipate production challenges. Excellent communication and collaboration abilities, with the capacity to work effectively in a team environment. Attention to detail and prioritizing tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies is a plus. Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to create complex spreadsheets, use formulas and functions, and analyze large datasets. Experience with Power Queries in Excel or similar data retrieval, transformation, and analysis tools and willingness to learn.
