THE WORK Performs the Make, Buy and / or Bill of Material (BOM) planning activities associated with Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP) transactions. Responsibilities include: Performs one or more multiple manufacturing activities within various manufacturing functions. Maintains production systems integrity to drive inventory optimization to minimize cost. Expedites and optimizes material flow through the supply chain to meet customer requirements. Coordinates with manufacturing and Operations Management to provide shop floor control on make parts, analyzes and controls production schedule and capacity requirements, executes the plan, provides timely status and expedites or works around plans to preserve schedule. Coordinates with Supply Chain Stakeholders including Procurement and Operations Management to determine appropriate time phased plan for procured parts and executes processes to ensure deliverables meet production schedule requirements. Maintains MRP parameters including lead times and lot sizes and coordinates with Engineering and Change Board Rep to make the associated changes to the BOM. WHO YOU ARE You are a detail-oriented professional with a strong command of ERP systems and a proven ability to optimize complex material flows. You possess the analytical mindset needed to resolve systemic inefficiencies and collaborate effectively across technical and operational teams. Basic Qualifications Education: Associate’s degree (or coursework) in Production Management, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Business, or a related technical field – or comparable on‑the‑job training related to material and inventory management. Experience: 0‑1 year of experience (or internship/co‑op) in production planning, shop‑floor support, scheduling, logistics, or a related manufacturing environment. Demonstrated interest through projects, coursework, or volunteer work is acceptable. ERP Exposure: Introductory familiarity with an ERP/MRP system (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) – basic navigation and data entry; formal certification not required. Analytical Ability: Comfort working with production data and inventory information; able to identify simple trends and report findings. Lean Awareness: Basic understanding of Lean or continuous‑improvement concepts (e.g., 5S, Kaizen) and willingness to learn how to apply them on the shop floor. Communication: Strong written and verbal skills for clear coordination with engineering, procurement, quality, and shop‑floor teams. Excel Skills: Proficient with Medium to Advanced Excel functions (sorting, filtering, formulas, pivot tables, vlookup, charts) Inventory Fundamentals: General knowledge of inventory control ideas such as safety stock, reorder points, and material traceability.
