Purpose / General Description:
The Manufacturing Operations Manager is accountable for the overall performance, leadership, and culture of the manufacturing facility, with direct responsibility for Safety, Quality, Delivery, Productivity, and Cost. This role leads and develops the Manufacturing Leadership Team while driving a lean, high performance operating system aligned with company strategy and values.
As a key member of the US Operations Management Team, the Manufacturing Operations Manager represents the factory in strategic planning, capital prioritization, and business execution while ensuring local alignment with enterprise objectives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Plant Leadership & Culture
• Recruit, develop, and lead a high performing Manufacturing Leadership Team across Manufacturing, Supply Chain & Engineering. Participate in recruiting of other areas such as Continuous Improvement, Quality and Safety when needed.
• Serve as the visible leadership example, reinforcing that “the organization is a reflection of its leadership”.
• Build and sustain a culture of accountability, transparency, customer focus, and continuous improvement.
• Coach leaders at all levels in lean leadership behaviors, systems thinking, and performance ownership.
Operational Excellence
• Drive continuous improvement across Safety, Quality, Delivery, Productivity, and Cost (SQDPC).
• Oversee Production Planning, Safety & Environmental programs, and Facility & Equipment Maintenance.
• Establish, monitor, and improve manufacturing KPIs to ensure predictable, stable performance.
• Challenge the current state and design the most effective organizational structure to meet operational and strategic goals.
Lean Manufacturing & Systems Thinking
• Advance a lean manufacturing culture through consistent application of lean principles and methodologies.
• Lead the development and execution of standard work, problem solving routines, and management operating systems.
• Increase organizational understanding and application of the company’s operational systems model.
• Serve as a sponsor and active participant in major improvement initiatives.
Financial & Business Acumen
• Build financial literacy and accountability across all departments.
• Own factory level financial performance, including budgeting, cost control, and productivity improvement.
• Ensure operational decisions are aligned with both short term performance targets and long term strategy.
Strategic Contribution
• Contribute to short and long term strategic planning as a member of the US Manufacturing Team.
• Represent factory priorities, risks, and opportunities during strategy development and budgeting cycles.
• Support the deployment of global and group strategic initiatives at the plant level.
• Maintain direct accountability to executive leadership for factory results.

Qualifications & Experience
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Operations, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• 3-5 years of progressive experience in Plant or Operations leadership
• Demonstrated success leading leaders of leaders
• Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing (Lean Six Sigma Black Belt preferred)
• Solid understanding of quality systems, safety regulations, and operational compliance
• Experience in / responsible for managing and budgeting for P&L.
• SAP experience preferred
• International business exposure a plus
