Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Machine Operator to join our furniture manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating, setting up, and maintaining machinery to ensure efficient and high-quality output. Your expertise in machining, fabrication, and technical interpretation will be essential in meeting production goals while adhering to safety standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a fast-paced manufacturing environment where precision and safety are paramount. Duties Operate either a Homag Edgebander, Homag Panel Saw, or CNC routers; Biesse and Homag Programming and Set up machining tools and the fabrication of wood parts Interpret CAD drawings from SolidWorks Perform CNC programming and CAM programming to create accurate machining processes for complex components Conduct quality control inspections utilizing measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, micrometer gauges, and other precision measurement instruments Maintain safety standards by using personal protective equipment (PPE), following lockout/tagout procedures, and adhering to manufacturing safety protocols Troubleshoot machinery issues promptly to minimize downtime and optimize production flow Assist in tooling setup, fabrication, assembly, and equipment calibration as needed for continuous improvement initiatives like lean manufacturing Qualifications Proven experience operating large manufacturing machines in a production environment Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T specifications Familiarity with CNC programming languages and software including CAM programming tools; experience with CNC lathe operations is a plus Ability to read and utilize measurement tools like calipers, micrometers, and precision measuring instruments for quality control purposes Knowledge of safety standards in production environments and proper PPE use Experience with hand tools, power tools, grinders, and machining tool setup procedures Warehouse experience is advantageous for material handling and inventory management tasks Basic math skills necessary for measurements, calculations related to machining tolerances, and process adjustments Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), SolidWorks CAD software, tooling setup, fabrication processes, and lean manufacturing principles will enhance your effectiveness in this role Join our team as a Machine Operator if you’re passionate about precision manufacturing.
