We currently have an opening for an Manufacturing Engineer at our Dyco Electronics facility located in Hornell, NY . This position is critical to supporting operational growth through automation, process improvement, equipment integration, and manufacturing efficiency initiatives. The Manufacting Engineer will work closely with Operations, Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, Supply Chain, and Leadership teams to design and implement scalable automation solutions that improve productivity, quality, safety, and capacity while supporting long-term business objectives. The ideal candidate will possess strong industrial automation experience, hands-on manufacturing knowledge, project management capabilities, and the ability to effectively communicate technical and financial information to all levels of the organization. Details of the Role: The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for identifying, designing, developing, implementing, and sustaining automation solutions that improve operational performance and support future growth. This position will lead automation and process improvement projects from concept through implementation, including business case development, technical design, equipment sourcing, validation, training, and ongoing support. The role serves as a key contributor to continuous improvement and manufacturing modernization efforts. Important Requirement: This is an ITAR-restricted position. Candidates must be able to meet U.S. Person requirements under applicable U.S. export control laws and regulations. Duties and Responsibilities: Identify opportunities to automate manual, repetitive, labor-intensive, bottleneck, or error-prone manufacturing processes. Design and implement automation solutions that improve productivity, quality, throughput, safety, and consistency. Lead automation projects through concept, design, approval, installation, validation, production release, and post-launch support. Design, specify, and integrate automation equipment, robotic systems, vision systems, fixtures, tooling, test systems, and material handling solutions. Create and maintain engineering drawings, specifications, technical documentation, and process flow documentation. Analyze existing manufacturing processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, quality, capacity, and overall equipment effectiveness. Support root cause investigations, corrective actions, process controls, and continuous improvement initiatives. Support PLCs, HMIs, sensors, drives, motion control systems, industrial communications, and other automation technologies. Assist with programming, troubleshooting, optimization, and integration of automated manufacturing equipment and business systems. Develop project scopes, schedules, budgets, capital expenditure requests, ROI analyses, and implementation plans.
