Job Description What You Get To Do: As a Manufacturing / Backup Class A CDL Driver, you will play a versatile role supporting both the Manufacturing and Transportation functions at our City of Industry facility. Your primary responsibility will focus on chemical manufacturing, material packaging, equipment operation, and loading activities, while also providing critical backup support to the transportation team when needed. This position requires someone who is safety-focused, dependable, adaptable, and comfortable working in both a manufacturing and transportation environment. You will follow established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), operate manufacturing equipment, assist with chemical processing and tanker loading, and operate tractors and trailers throughout the facility. When transportation support is needed, you may assist with deliveries, move equipment, transport vehicles to and from repair facilities, and provide coverage from unexpected driver absences. The Specifics: Perform daily manufacturing activities, including packaging and filling materials into totes, drums, bottles, and other approved containers. Follow established SOPs and manufacturing procedures while maintaining accurate lot numbers for materials produced. Read and understand production orders and operate applicable manufacturing equipment. Support ammonia manufacturing operations, including processing aqua ammonia and transferring ammonia (NH3) to storage tanks. Load tankers as part of manufacturing and facility operations while following applicable safety procedures. Maintain required manufacturing and process logbooks and accurately update lot numbers. Operate Class A tractors and trailers throughout the facility and yard. Spot trailers in designated loading areas and move equipment to appropriate locations within the facility. Park tractors and trailers in designated areas and maintain an organized and safe yard environment. Provide backup transportation support and occasionally assist with deliveries as needed. Transport company units to and from repair facilities or service locations when required. Provide driver coverage during unplanned or unexpected driver absences. Safely operate commercial vehicles and comply with applicable traffic laws, DOT requirements, and company procedures when performing driving duties. Maintain required driver logs and documentation in accordance with applicable state and federal regulations. Maintain vehicles, trailers, equipment, and work areas in a clean, organized, and safe condition. Qualifications You possess a distinctive blend of skills, talents, and mindset, which may include the following: Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Current HazMat and Tanker endoresements required for applicable driving assignments Ability to safely operate tractors and trailers within a manufacturing facility and yard Ability to perform manufacturing, packaging, loading, and equipment operation activities Ability to read and understand production orders and follow established SOPs Ability to maintain accurate production records, logbooks, and lot numbers Working knowledge of commercial driving regulations, including applicable DOT requirements and driver hours-of-service requirements Familiarity with DOT placarding, marking, and labeling requirements Ability to safely load and unload chemical materials while following established procedures Ability to communicate effectively with Dispatch, Manufacturing, Transportation, and other facility personnel Ability to safely perform physical duties associated …
