Groe Advisors LLCGENERAL SUMMARY Company is seeking an experienced and motivated Manufacturing Assistant Manager to support daily production operations in our cryogenic piping manufacturing facility. The successful candidate will work closely with the Manufacturing Manager to oversee production personnel, ensure product quality, maintain delivery schedules, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. This position requires a strong manufacturing background with extensive knowledge of GTAW (TIG) welding of stainless-steel tubing and piping, preferably within high-purity, pressure vessel, cryogenic, or vacuum-insulated applications. Candidates should possess proven leadership capabilities and prior experience supervising manufacturing personnel. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Production Leadership Assist in managing daily manufacturing operations to meet production schedules, quality standards, and delivery commitments. Supervise welders, assemblers, fabricators, and production technicians. Coordinate labor assignments to maximize efficiency and throughput. Monitor workflow and identify bottlenecks that affect production performance. Support hiring, onboarding, training, and employee development activities. Foster a culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement. Welding & Fabrication Oversight Provide technical guidance on TIG welding of stainless-steel tubing, piping, and fabricated assemblies. Review welding procedures and ensure adherence to approved work instructions. Evaluate weld quality and workmanship standards. Troubleshoot welding-related production issues and implement corrective actions. Ensure compliance with applicable welding specifications, quality requirements, and customer standards. Quality & Compliance Work closely with Quality Assurance personnel to maintain compliance with company quality procedures. Verify proper documentation of manufacturing and inspection activities. Support root cause investigations and corrective action implementation. Assist in maintaining compliance with ISO quality requirements and internal manufacturing procedures. Operational Improvement Assist in developing and implementing lean manufacturing initiatives. Monitor production metrics and recommend process improvements. Participate in equipment maintenance planning and capital equipment evaluations. Support inventory management and material flow improvements. Safety Promote adherence to all company safety policies and procedures. Conduct routine safety observations and participate in incident investigations. Ensure employees maintain safe work practices and proper use of personal protective equipment. COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS Minimum 5 years of manufacturing experience. Minimum 2 years of supervisory or management experience in a manufacturing environment. Extensive hands-on experience with GTAW (TIG) welding stainless steel. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, welding drawings, and fabrication specifications. Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. Excellent communication and team leadership abilities. Experience working in a fast-paced production environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Experience with vacuum-insulated or cryogenic piping systems. Experience with orbital welding processes. AWS welding certifications. Familiarity with ASME pressure piping and pressure vessel requirements. ISO 9001 manufacturing experience. ERP/MRP system experience. Associate's or bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, Engineering Technology, Welding Technology, or related field. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY You have responsibility for other team members who report directly to you.
