Position Summary
The Manager of Technology Operations is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day management, administration, and continuous improvement of the Company’s technology infrastructure. This role provides operational leadership and hands-on technical expertise to support, maintain, and enhance the Company’s IT environment and security posture.
The Manager ensures the effective execution of technology operations, supports regulatory and compliance requirements, and contributes to risk alignment with Company objectives. This position also contributes to client-facing service delivery and supports the growth and development of a small technical team.
Success in this role is driven by strong operational execution, technical expertise, effective team leadership, and the ability to deliver high-quality internal and client services.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Technology Operations Management
- Oversees daily operations of the Company’s technology infrastructure, including cloud (Azure/OCI) and on-premises environments.
- Implements and maintains infrastructure solutions that support business and client requirements, ensuring scalability, resilience, and security alignment.
- Develops, documents, and enforces operational standards, procedures, and controls necessary to operate and maintain the technical environment.
- Monitors and maintains systems administration, network management, telecommunications, system and data backup, and disaster recovery capabilities.
- Ensures operational adherence to approved information security policies, standards, and risk management requirements.
- Tracks and manages technology-related budgets, forecasts, and operational expenses.
- Ensures reliable delivery of end-user technical support services.
Information Security and Risk Management
- Partners with Information Security leadership to implement and operationalize the Company’s Information Security Program within the technology environment.
- Ensures technology operations comply with established information security policies, standards, and risk mitigation requirements.
- Enforces risk management procedures across the Technology Operations team, including secure configuration, access controls, change management, and vulnerability remediation.
- Supports risk assessments by providing documentation, system evidence, and remediation plans related to infrastructure and operations.
- Monitors and remediates operational security control gaps within defined timelines and risk tolerances.
- Participates in incident response activities affecting infrastructure and coordinates operational remediation efforts.
- Supports disaster recovery and business continuity testing from an infrastructure and systems perspective.
- Participates in internal and external audits and examinations (including SOC 2 Type 2), providing required operational documentation, control evidence, and remediation tracking.
- Collaborates with Information Security and Compliance functions to ensure operational controls align with regulatory and contractual requirements.
- Assists with regulatory and external examinations related to information security and cybersecurity.
Client Service Delivery
- Delivers billable technology operations and information security consulting services.
- Demonstrates subject matter expertise and a commitment to client success.
- Assesses client requirements and develops practical, effective technology and security solutions.
- Supports business development efforts by contributing technical expertise to proposals and client discussions.
Team Leadership and Development
- Supervises and develops a small team of technology professionals.
- Assigns and coordinates team workloads to ensure client deliverables and internal objectives are met.
- Provides performance feedback, coaching, and professional development guidance.
- Develops staffing and skill development plans to support scalable operations.
- Fosters collaboration, accountability, and effective communication within the team.
- Establishes priorities, organizes work, and ensures timely completion of objectives.
- Provides technical guidance and subject matter expertise to leadership and other departments.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 10+ years of progressive experience in technology operations and/or information security.
- 4+ years of experience leading or supervising technical teams.
- Strong experience with cloud platforms (Azure and/or OCI) and hybrid/on-prem infrastructure environments.
- Solid understanding of cybersecurity frameworks, risk management, incident response, and regulatory compliance.
- Experience supporting audits, risk assessments, and disaster recovery/business continuity planning.
- Strong client-facing communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts into business terms.
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, Azure, or Security+ preferred.
Work Location & Remote Work (USA)
This position is primarily office-based. Remote or hybrid work may be permitted in limited circumstances based on business needs, client requirements, and role suitability.
