Manager of Purchasing and Warehouse

We're looking for an organized, process-driven Manager of Purchasing and Warehousing to join our team in Rochester. This is a critical role at Four Winds Chimney because you'll be responsible for making sure our technicians always have the right materials and tools to get the job done right. If you love the satisfaction of a tidy, efficient warehouse and you’re fluent in using software to track every dollar and detail, this is the perfect opportunity. You’ll own the entire lifecycle of our inventory—from negotiating the price to putting it on each van. What You'll Be Doing: This role requires a mix of boots-on-the-ground management and desk-based accountability. Your primary responsibilities will include: Warehouse Command: You'll have complete Warehouse Oversight for our main facility, making sure it’s safe, organized, and running at peak efficiency. You'll manage shipping and receiving and be the point person for all incoming and outgoing materials. The Big Shop: You will handle all purchasing of our baseline inventory . This includes all general masonry items, HVAC chimney venting supplies, and the necessary tools and gear for our technicians. You'll be negotiating with vendors to ensure we get the best quality and pricing. Custom Order Control: This is a key part of the job. You will specifically manage all custom project ordering for each job . You must be fluent in computer-based purchasing portals , use Excel or our CRM to meticulously track updates , and communicate status clearly to project managers. Satellite Management: Because we have multiple service areas, you will oversee Satellite Warehouse Management . This includes conducting regular visits to inspect inventory and supplies in those locations. You should expect very occasional day-long road trips through those service areas. Inventory Accuracy: You are the keeper of our physical inventory and our digital inventory records, ensuring we always know what we have and where it is. Who You Are: A self-starter who takes genuine pride in organization and tidiness —you see a mess and immediately want to fix the underlying system. Knowledge of the chimney industry and its components is a huge plus. If not, willingness to train and educate yourself to learn the equipment, inventory, and their field applications a must. Equally comfortable wearing work boots in the warehouse and working at a desk on a computer. Lifting heavy things will be part of this job. When needed a forklift can be your tool, but a strong back will come in handy daily. Proficient in purchasing portals, Excel , and have experience working with a major CRM (like Service Titan) for inventory tracking. You are a great communicator who can work seamlessly with vendors, techs, and operations managers. You have a clean driving record and are comfortable with the minor travel required to manage our satellite locations.
