Manager, New Verticals - Logistics Strategy & Operations
DoorDashAbout The Team Our New Verticals Strategy & Operations team is re-inventing the way consumers think about grocery, convenience, alcohol and retail delivery through both our first-party and third-party operations businesses. Our third-party operations business [internally known as 3P], enables both shopping and last mile delivery for third-party enterprise & SMB merchants we partner directly with. About The Role We are looking to hire a Manager for New Vertical Logistics, to own workstreams that will directly impact bottom line efficiency and the end-to-end dasher experience. You will own dasher efficiency metrics, build the strategy and execute to drive impact and hit your goals, and improve the Dasher experience to keep our fleet healthy. You will work directly with a wide range of cross-functional stakeholders across Finance, Product, Engineering, and Analytics. You will report to a Senior Manager within our Central Strategy & Operations team and manage a team of one. We operate in a hybrid model - you will spend some time in your home office, in person via offsites and testing your new products or features in 3P stores. You’re Excited About This Opportunity Because You Will… Build & Analyze. You’ll do whatever it takes to launch and ship new features to drive dasher efficiencies and improve the dasher experience — from writing complex SQL queries to drafting product requirements and supporting new feature launches. You’ll assess the operational and financial impacts of experiments, model tradeoffs, and iterate based on data. Scale. You’ll transform analytical insights into experiments that create measurable and scalable improvements in dasher efficiency. Experiment. You will identify variance drivers, develop hypotheses, and test model and product changes in partnership with Product, Engineering, and Analytics — including leveraging AI-enabled tools to uplevel the way we operate internally & externally. Collaborate. You’ll influence a cross-functional team, including finance, engineering, product, and data science, driving alignment on roadmap priorities. Lead. You will manage at least one direct report. Own. You love owning problems end-to-end. You display ownership for the products and business lines that you are responsible for. You never shy away from raising your hand to solve ambiguous problems and are able to motivate and empower your teammates to go above and beyond. We’re Excited About You Because… You’re analytical. You have a strong analytical background and advanced SQL proficiency. You live and breathe numbers and use them to understand problems and tell stories. You are AI native. You have working proficiency with Claude and Cursor and know how to use AI to increase your productivity without reducing the quality of your output. You solve problems from first principles. You’re excited to solve operational problems in innovative ways, and you resist “this is how it’s always been done” thinking. You’re equally comfortable operating at 10,000 feet and 1 foot. You don’t hesitate to get in the weeds with data and real life operations, but you’re just as comfortable influencing roadmap discussions and strategic priorities. You have 6-8+ years of professional experience. Ideally you have a combination of experiences in product operations, logistics, technology, finance, high-growth start ups, etc. Prior people management experience is highly preferred. You have at least 2+ years of operational experience in marketplaces, food & beverage, logistics or product operations. You have a completed Bachelor’s Degree ideally in economics, finance, or mathematics.
