Job Overview The Manager, Maintenance coordinates and oversees the day-to-day management of the maintenance team in the distribution center. They manage the daily maintenance activities for the operations to ensure facility and organizational goals and objectives are achieved. They perform preventive and corrective maintenance on material handling equipment, powered equipment, and building structures. Additionally, they conduct diagnostics and utilize troubleshooting skills to analyze, improve, and repair equipment. The Manager, Maintenance, also repairs, maintains, installs, and updates electrical systems for equipment, buildings, and grounds. What You Will Do Oversee a team in our distribution facility with a focus on operational excellence for all equipment to meet or surpass goals and targets. Collaborate with operational teams to support distribution center logistics functions. Develop operational proficiency in supported business units and bridge the gap between functional requirements and the mechanical capabilities of material handling systems. Ensure building and equipment are maintained in an optimal, safe running condition at the lowest cost Maintain all Material Handling Equipment (MHE) and Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) equipment within OEM safe operational specifications. Lead and promote behaviors aligned with Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) practices, particularly in Preventative Maintenance. Support and develop best practices that promote continuity across Macy's Supply Chain, including the CFC network. Promote and ensure the safety of staff and colleagues. Train, develop, and supervise maintenance teams. Ensure that the department excels in safety, shortage, cost control, quality, processing standards, flexibility, reliability, customer service, and execution of plans. Conduct presentations to senior management as needed. Continuously analyze work processes to identify optimization opportunities and implement improvements. Ensure analytical troubleshooting and root cause analysis practices are consistently followed. Cultivate a work culture dedicated to superior technical service, customer service and success. Collaborate with operations leaders and maintenance colleagues to ensure clear communication and effective handoffs between shifts, maintaining operational efficiency. Establish and maintain procedures to effectively service facility equipment. Manage inventory control for supplies and equipment needed. Develop operational improvements for the facility and equipment. Review analyses of activities, costs, operations, and forecast data to assess department progress toward stated goals and objectives. Create a safe work environment for staff, including the development and enforcement of Safe/Smart work practices and compliance with safety programs. Collaborate with IT and the engineering staff as a technician for systems development and refinement to enhance operations, productivity, and service levels. Foster an environment of acceptance and respect that strengthens relationships, and ensures authentic connections with colleagues, customers, and communities.
