Manager for Convenience Store

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and energetic Manager for a Convenience Store to lead daily operations, drive sales, and ensure exceptional customer service. In this role, you will oversee all aspects of store management, including inventory control, staff supervision, merchandising, and financial processes. Duties Lead and motivate the retail sales team to achieve sales targets and deliver outstanding customer service. Oversee daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and POS system management. Manage inventory levels through purchasing, stock replenishment, and inventory control to minimize shrinkage and maximize product availability. Recruit, interview, train, and develop staff members to ensure a knowledgeable and efficient team. Implement merchandising strategies to enhance product visibility and drive sales growth. Monitor sales performance and prepare reports on store metrics; manage budgeting and financial records accurately. Enforce safety policies, maintain store cleanliness, and ensure compliance with health regulations. Skills Strong leadership with proven experience in retail management or supervisory roles within the convenience store or retail industry. Excellent communication skills in multiple languages; bilingual abilities are highly desirable for diverse customer engagement. Proficiency in POS systems, cash handling procedures, bookkeeping, payroll processing, and inventory management software. Skilled in negotiation, purchasing, pricing strategies, and sales management to maximize profitability. Demonstrated ability in employee orientation, training & development, interviewing techniques, and team supervision. Sound organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment. Basic math skills for retail math calculations such as sales totals, discounts, and inventory counts. Strong managerial communication skills to coordinate shifts, delegate tasks, and provide constructive feedback. Experience with operational management including budgeting, merchandising, stock control, and store maintenance.
