Apex SystemsJob#: 3053784 Job Description: Major Projects Procurement Mgr Location: Columbus, Ohio (Onsite) Pay: $60-$67/hr Role Overview The Procurement Manager for Major Projects serves as the primary procurement partner for assigned major generation or transmission capital projects or programs. This senior individual contributor leads procurement integration across materials, equipment, services, and contracting activities to support project delivery. This role develops and oversees the integrated procurement plan, anticipates and mitigates risks, and aligns procurement activities with project milestones. Key Responsibilities Establish clear accountability, decision paths, and escalation processes to resolve procurement issues and risks. Communicate procurement readiness, key risks, mitigation plans, and critical decisions to project leadership. Serve as the primary procurement liaison and single point of coordination for assigned major projects. Develop, maintain, and drive the integrated project procurement plan, ensuring alignment with project milestones. Translate project schedules and business objectives into coordinated procurement, sourcing, and contracting execution plans. Maintain procurement dashboards and risk registers that provide visibility into milestones, supplier capacity, and material status. Coordinate cross-functional execution across various internal and external stakeholder groups. Partner with Procurement teams to address supplier performance, capacity constraints, and commercial considerations. Leverage analytics and systems to enhance sourcing effectiveness, contract visibility, and project outcomes. Required Qualifications Education: A Bachelor's degree with 8 years of relevant experience, an Associate's degree with 10 years of relevant experience, or a High School Diploma/GED with 12 years of relevant experience is required. Experience: Demonstrated success leading complex cross-functional initiatives without direct authority is necessary. Experience supporting large capital, utility, energy, generation, transmission, infrastructure, industrial, or engineering projects is required. Skills: Strong knowledge of procurement processes, contracting, supplier management, supply markets, manufacturing lead times, and delivery assurance is required. Candidates must possess strong stakeholder management, collaboration, and executive communication skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting generation, transmission, utility, energy, EPC, or infrastructure capital projects. Knowledge of project controls, critical path scheduling, commissioning, and construction sequencing. Experience managing procurement risks on projects with significant capital investment. PMP, CPSM, CPSD, SCM, or similar professional certification. Experience operating in matrixed and portfolio-based organizations.
