SUMMARY Northline Seafoods is an innovative seafood processing company located in Bellingham, WA. We are seeking skilled Maintenance Technicians for our night shift to repair, troubleshoot, and maintain a wide variety of plant machinery, mechanical systems, and production equipment. The ideal candidate is hands-on, mechanically inclined, and comfortable working in a fast-paced seafood processing environment. Experience with engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, gearboxes, hydraulic systems, and production machinery is preferred. This temporary position is anticipated to run from early November through mid-April, with the potential to extend through May based on operational needs. Night Shift: 4:00 PM – 2:30 AM Base Pay Rate: $29.00/hour Night Shift Differential: +$1.00/hour Night Shift Pay Rate: $30.00/hour ESSENTIAL DUTIES Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain plant equipment and production machinery. Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on equipment in a safe and thorough manner. Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and failures on the production floor. Perform maintenance tasks involving mechanical, electrical, plumbing, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems. Help ensure the safe and efficient operation of plant equipment and systems. Demonstrate a strong commitment to employee safety and maintenance safety practices. Assist production leads and supervisors with diagnosing equipment malfunctions and operational issues. Communicate effectively with maintenance and production employees and share knowledge and troubleshooting techniques. Support and participate in continuous improvement projects, events, and committees. Maintain work areas and equipment in accordance with SQF and HACCP standards and follow all applicable food safety and sanitation requirements. Operate material-handling equipment, including pallet jacks, electric pallet jacks, forklifts, and/or scissor lifts, as authorized and trained. Follow standard work practices, 5S principles, maintenance GMPs, and proper parts accountability. Clean and organize the work area after completing maintenance tasks. Assist with equipment cleaning and sanitation as needed. Perform other duties as assigned. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Ability to work independently, take initiative, and prioritize tasks. Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. TIG welding experience preferred. Background in construction, general contracting, or industrial maintenance preferred. Previous experience in a food manufacturing or seafood processing facility preferred. Experience working with conveyors, motors, gearboxes, hydraulics, pneumatics, and production equipment preferred. Comfortable with hands-on, physical work with a versatile approach. Willingness to assist with a variety of maintenance, cleaning, and equipment sanitation tasks. Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced production environment. Responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of mechanical and electrical systems through proper predictive, preventive, and corrective maintenance procedures. Ability to stand, walk, climb ladders, and navigate an industrial facility for extended periods. Ability to climb steep ramps and stairs on the freezer barge as needed.
